Matheus Cunha explains January decision
Matheus Cunha has said he “couldn’t leave” Wolves in January while they were in a relegation fight.
The Brazilian attracted significant interest, with Arsenal believed to be keen admirers, but he has now opened up on the decision to resist leaving Wolves mid-season, while suggesting a move could come this summer.
“I had a lot of offers but I wouldn’t feel well if I had done it,” he told The Observer.
“Some things you can’t control but I couldn’t leave the club in the middle of the season, in a difficult situation, in the relegation zone.
“Now, we’re close to achieving our goal [of staying up]. But I’ve made it clear that I need to take the next step. I want to fight for titles, for big things. I have potential.”

Arsenal confirm Andrea Berta arrival
Arsenal have confirmed the appointment of Andrea Berta as their new sporting director.
The Italian arrives in north London as the permanent replacement for Edu, who resigned his post in November to take up a new challenge overseeing the growing portfolio of clubs under Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Edu’s assistant Jason Ayto was named as his interim replacement while Arsenal conducted a thorough search for the Brazilian’s full-time successor.
They were linked with a whole host of external names as well as Ayto, including the likes of Dan Ashworth, Roberto Olabe, Thiago Scuro and Tomas Rosicky before Berta emerged as the leading contender for the job earlier in March.

Real Madrid plot Bruno Fernandes move
Manchester United could face a big decision over whether to sell Bruno Fernandes after it emerged the midfielder is a shock transfer target for Real Madrid.
Real Madrid are ready to make a £90million move for Fernandes which would give cash-strapped United a major dilemma.
Scouts are said to have been sent by Real Madrid to watch Fernandes as the Spanish giants plot an overhaul of their squad in the summer, having closed in on a deal to sign Trent Alexander-Arnold on a free transfer at the end of the season.
According to the Daily Star, Fernandes has been identified as a top signing who could also be a potential successor to Luka Modric at the Bernabeu.
United manager Ruben Amorim does not want to lose his inspirational captain but United need to raise money and they would have to consider a big offer for him.

Liverpool willing to sell Harvey Elliott this summer
Liverpool appear willing to move on from Harvey Elliott this summer.
The 21-year-old has made almost 150 appearances across all competitions since moving to Anfield from Fulham in 2019 and remains a popular figure among fans, despite having not started a single Premier League game this season.
Elliott’s dramatic late winning goal against Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie and his assist off the bench for Federico Chiesa in the Carabao Cup final has only increased the clamour among supporters for him to be handed more opportunities under Arne Slot.
However, Sky Sports now claim that Liverpool would accept a “good offer” for the England Under-21 international this summer.

Chelsea may move for either Liam Delap or Benjamin Sesko this summer, reports claim.
